Focus: 2019 February 5

The best way to enjoy the day – a sweet treat with sweet words.

Good morning!

Well it was a super late night, and my toddler’s ability to fight sleep has amazed me once again. This morning we’ve been jumping on the bed for about an hour already, and he doesn’t seem tired of it yet. I’m going to let him jump for as long as he wants to! There’s some work being done on the exterior of the house, and it’s supposed to rain today anyways, so jumping on the bed sounds like a great plan to me! We’ll call it baby-led playing – haha!

It’s supposed to be a bit rainy today, so my goal for today is to make sure we get out of the house a little so we don’t go stir-crazy. I’m leaning towards a trip to the bookstore – the one we like has escalators AND stairs, so that alone is endless entertainment for a two year old, and it gives us an excuse to get some new books. Depending on how the day goes, we’ll probably go to one of our favorite indoor playscapes so he can have plenty of kid-to-kid interaction. I also have some around-the-house things I need to get done, so I’ll be sure to make those an “activity” as well.

I will…

I will do my laundry.

I will read a little.

I will write.

I will blog… obviously.

I will take my kid out and about, letting him lead the way in decision making today – as long as it doesn’t lead to something he could get hurt doing.

I will be patient.

I will put myself in my kids shoes when I feel impatient, and I will realize that he just wants to have fun and make mommy happy.

I will encourage naptime and bedtime by reading books and trying to get my kid to lay down for an hour before he actually should be sleeping. This sounds crazy, but he just won’t settle down sometimes.

I will make healthy meals, whipping out the kitchen helper step stool so my kid can be involved!

I will pick up my kids bedroom – it looks insane right now. Then I will de-clutter my room, which should really only take a few minutes.

I will clean up immediately after meal times – again, kitchen helper step stool!

I am…

I am an awesome mom.

I am a healthy woman.

I am a strong woman.

I am patient.

I am happy.

I am totally spoiled by my little family who I love very much, and I am appreciative of that.

I am a reader and a writer.

I am organized and motivated.

I am ready to conquer the day!

Thanks for reading!

As always, hoping your day is as happy and productive as mine! It really does clear my thoughts to write these daily focus blogs, and I encourage others to try it out! If you want to read more about my life, parenthood, books I’m reading, or things I’m writing, subscribe and follow below!
